Gossip. Abraham Hicks

Q: Hello everybody. Hello Abraham, Esther, Jerry. I want to continue the discussions about cravings that the gentleman brought up last recording. Not food cravings. But for me, it's about gossip. Gossip seems such an entrenched human behavior. And when I do it, initially it feels good, you know. I make alliances, I feel superior.
And then, I feel ashamed. And I think, what would my inner being think? Would I like to be gossiped about? And then I equate it to like a drug addiction. You know it's bad for you, but you do it, and it feels good. And then you feel even worse. How do we break these kind of vicious cycles sometimes? I feel like a moth to the flame about it. Law of attraction. It would be very helpful. Much love to everybody.
Abraham: Well you see, first of all, it is about momentum. Because, as you give your attention to it, and then as you visit with others about it, there is a momentum. And like you say, the law of attraction thing gets it going.
But we want you to look at this in another way. Maybe a way that you have not looked at it before. In a moving up the emotional scale way.
So, something happens, hits you on the side of the head somehow. And you want to vent about it. You want to talk to somebody about it. And the law of attraction will match you up pretty quickly with others who are having some of the same experiences that also want to vent.
And the reason that it initially feels good to you… Now this is really important, so we're just going to slow down and you all take a deep breath and just take this in.
You want to be right. And you feel how you feel. And when someone else hears and agrees, when you commiserate together so to speak, when you confirm with each other, do you know what's really happening? Your guidance system is kicking in. And somehow you are confirming with each other that how you feel matters. It's like…
We haven't quite said it yet in a way that you can hear it. So we're going to keep going for it until you do.
It's like sensing something that's bothering you. Some of Esther's family was on the highway in the last few days, and Esther kept getting a kind of uneasy feeling about it. And she didn't want to have an uneasy feeling about it. She didn't want to lay down any tracks. She had an uneasy feeling about it.
And then later she heard that someone that her family knew, that was going and leaving from the same place that they were going and leaving from, had had an accident. And something about hearing that - that gossip you might say, conversation about unwanted things - was comforting to Esther because it validated what she'd been sensing.
Now, you want to be right. We want to say to you, it's a good thing, not a bad thing. It's a right thing, not a wrong thing, to have a step one moment. Because when you have a step one moment - which is what focusing on what you don't want always is, and feeling bad, which always comes with it - it raises both ends of the stick.
So that's why it initially feels like a relief to you. And as you get validated, as you vent more, it feels good to you. The reason you're a moth to the flame is because of the law of attraction.
But then it doesn't feel good because the other end of the stick comes into view and your inner being is focused upon the other end of the stick. And that's when you begin to feel the split energy between you and you.
